LIN 221 - INTRODUCTION TO LINGUISTICS I: THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS AND ANALYSIS

First of two courses offered in the introductory linguistics sequence, designed for majors and minors in Linguistics. Provides an intense and thorough introduction to the fundamental concepts of the field, including but not limited to: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. May be of use to students in other disciplines. Prerequisite for most 500 level LIN courses.

Prereq: This course is primarily designed for Linguistics major and minor students, but it is also suitable for students pursuing a major in the following disciplines: English, Modern and Classical Languages, and Communication Science Disorders, or consent of instructor.
