EPE 676 - ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION

College of Education

Credits: 3

This course is designed to introduce students to the organizational structure and administrative theories of higher education institutions. Colleges and universities are large and complex organizations that are affected by a variety of internal and external forces. This course will give students the opportunity to learn how alternative theoretical and critical frames can be used to view postsecondary education organization and administration. Students in this course will be asked to consider issues related to the management of colleges and universities from a broader perspective rather than simply from the perspective of their individual administrative positions. This requires thinking at a variety of levels simultaneously and considering higher education issues from a macro, rather than a micro, level. This will be accomplished through lectures, course readings, class activities and discussions.

Approved for Distance Learning.
