NUR 763 - FOUNDATIONS OF SCIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT IN NURSING

This course focuses on the foundations of nursing science and on approaches to developing knowledge for use in nursing research and practice. Concepts and theories from philosophy of science and methods of theory development are used to critically examine the process of knowledge development in nursing. Emphasis is placed on the role of logical analysis and critical thinking in the development of theory for nursing practice. Verbal communication and active engagement are critical in this course.

Prerequisite(s):
Prereq: Enrollment in Doctoral Program in Nursing or consent of instructor.
