In response to an increasing demand, a large number of postsecondary institutions, K-12 schools, and agencies in public health, government and private business are offering instruction or training in a distance learning format. However, distance education requires a unique set of skills for course/ program development, management, support, and delivery. To prepare current and future instructors, trainers, and administrators, the University of Kentucky offers a Graduate Certificate in Distance Education. The Certificate is administered collaboratively by the Department of Early Childhood, Special Education & Counselor Education and Instructional Systems Design program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
